Basic Chitosan Seed Coating Formula from Yudacentury
1. Add 200g Yudacentury chitosan powder into 7300ml water and stir thoroughly. Pour in 2500ml of 9% acetic acid solution, blend well and let stand for 1 hour to prepare 10 liters of finished chitosan coating liquid.
2. Dosage: 6–8 liters of the above coating liquid per 100kg seeds.

Advantages of Chitosan as Seed Coating Agent
1. Excellent film-forming property
Forms breathable and water-resistant coating firmly attached to seeds, no peeling or sticking during sowing.
2. Natural bacteriostatic effect
Inhibits soil-borne fungi causing damping-off and seed rot, cuts down use of chemical fungicides.
3. Boosts germination & root growth
Activates seed enzymes, improves germination rate and seedling uniformity, promotes fibrous root development.
4. Nutrient slow release & drought resistance
Adsorbs trace elements and fertilizers for sustained release; locks moisture to prevent seed dehydration under drought.
5. Eco-friendly & biodegradable
Natural bio-based raw material, fully degraded in soil without residue, ideal for organic farming.
6. Optimizes rhizosphere environment
Favors beneficial microbes around roots, enhances seedling tolerance to cold, waterlogging and continuous cropping obstacles.
